What is Love? – Part 4
Previously, I gave the technique of having an Attitude of Gratitude, as we like to say in my house. This allows you to really put your life into the proper perspective and cherish the good that you have with you right now. In this section, I share the second technique that I found quite helpful in my quest to improve myself and find the love I deserve.
I learned this technique from the book “The Magic of Thinking Big” by Dr. David J. Schwartz. This book gives an exercise on making your own personal commercial. Now, this may sound complicated, but it really is quite simple. All you have to do is take a 3” x 5” note card (I recommend using a white note card and a blue pen) and write down a few positive statements about yourself and your goals. For ideas, you can refer back to the chart we created (two blogs ago) about your positive traits and some goals for you to strive for.
An example of some of the goals and positive thoughts that I have used are as follows.
I am a dynamic important person. I strive for success in every endeavor and I achieve it! I inspire others to greatness as I achieve my dreams.
Think big, I have amazing things happening in my life everyday!
I am a warm and loving person who is an asset to everyone I meet.
These are just a few of the lines I have written for my commercial. Feel free to write as many as you would like. Once you like what you have written, say it to yourself everyday. Use it before you do something new to remind yourself that you are courageous and strong. Say them as you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning for an excellent start to your day. If you are feeling poor about yourself, take out your commercial and remind yourself that you are a great person right now. The more you use this technique, the more you will continue to feel great about your self and be able to achieve anything you set your mind to achieve!
Tune in next time where we delve into the differences between a man and a woman and how they relate to finding the love of your life.
