Mr. Hamilton,
I’m not really sure I have a full-fledged transformation as of yet. What I do have is a feeling of peace. Everything I have been working on the past few years is displayed in your words.
I always “processed” information a bit different from my peers and it showed in my results. As an operations leader (manufacturing) my teams always got exceptional results; I even had a HR leader ask me how and if I could teach it. At the time, I couldn’t answer that question. The more I thought about it I came up with an analogy: PETE (People Engaged Transform Each other). I would focus my teams attention on what I thought were the “basics” (The Essence) and keep my communication with them Clear, Concise, & Consistent. As regimes and projects changed my communication & focus did not. I always told them “the right thing to do 100 years ago is the right thing to do today and will still be the right thing to do 100 years from now” (add Value). This is the exact thing that would get me into “hot water” with my leaders because their “values” seemed to change with the weather…and I would “express” my concern:-) To me, Adding Value comes down to People, not just customers, but your peers, the people you work with every day. Take care of your employees and taking care of your customers becomes a by-product…or at least that is how I’ve always seen it.
I always wanted to build a community called the ALPHA Circle: ALPHA (Always Live Passionately, Honestly, Authentically). As I read your manuscripts I got the feeling that’s what you’re attempting to do as well. I felt like I am on the right track. Thank You. I even have a couple of domain names that fit in perfectly with specific publications you have written.
In summary, I always felt like my mind worked a bit differently than others, I felt like I might be “ahead of my time.” Now that we have found each other I’m much more at ease with where I’m headed. Don’t get me wrong, I struggle with the bicameral mind constantly, it’s just that now I recognize it more often.
If I can ever be of service to you please feel free to ask, I’d love to help if I can!
Respectfully,
in your service,
Pete T
