I really love and appreciate our senior citizens; I especially feel very bad for the Senior Citizens in our society because they have contributed the most to our country and received the least…..Think about it, their entire lives they have worked putting money into our economy, even back when the minimum wage was $2.85 per hour; and at that low wage, they continued to pay into the Social Security Retirement System. All of their 60+ years they have attempted to secure for themselves what my Mom calls the, “Golden Years.” The Golden Years for those in their 80s’ means the long awaited time in life when the elderly can rest from their labors and enjoy each day living on their S.S.I. Pension Funds for which they have contributed to all of their lives.

I’m somewhat torn on this. Yes, the article is good, however however however–many people who are receiving Social Security retirement benefits are getting much much more value out of the system than they put in, even with taking inflation/interest into account. Social Security is a Ponzi scheme in the most important way, that being that those who get in the program early get the most “profit” out of it while those getting in during the later stages get cheated. Yep, a super Ponzi scheme.

The government has no business being in business. Coercion and confiscation, in many forms, are the methods used to fund their “business”.
Know and understand the difference between Lawful and Legal this is a large part of the corruption that is perpetuated.

cheated.I did not know what a Ponzi Scheme meant! I don’t think that when the SSI Admin. was initiated – it was intended to go bankrupt! And you know I think Ponzi Scheme came from the word Seniority in the work place. However, the economy does not all ow this word to remain in circulation for long (in many ways). I am more concerned about the disabled individuals whihc cannot care for themselves – like my son – he could never live on the $700.00 per mo. he receives without me to subsidize his living! And what of me? When I am old enough to retire there will be nothing left in the account AN ENRON ON SSI!

I agree with you that the BASIC structure of the government has failed. I think the idea of programs for the social good was, in the beginning, something other that what it is today.
When our founding fathers wrote the Constitution it was attached to the Declaration of Independence; these documents represented the American people and at the time were the ONLY programs designed to serve the people.
The purpose was stated as All People are endowed with inalienable rights; (it was not a sovereign King of the land that was supposed to dictate for US how we should benefit from the patronage of our land).
Throughout time flaw filled man has manipulated this concept into what it is today.
A Political System that brings benefit to itself in a four fold increase to that which is provided to the patrons of America.
We know the BASIC underlying cause of deception and greed is LIES holding the hand of LAZINESS. These two weaknesses in man cause him to live off the backs of the American people as they front their programs on our tax dollars.
We know it is all a lie. Why does it take hold in our social system in America? Please don’t be offended – it is because the American people have become so disillusioned that they themselves have become LAZY!
It is a sad occurrence to say that WE THE PEOPLE HAVE GIVEN UP! We cannot even muster up enough energy to form a political stand against the dishonesty that has become our political system.
As you can see Jill, a blog like this brings out and stirs up much frustration against our political system and the process for which American itself is being managed today! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS NEEDED!
Something has to spark the desire for the American people to stand up and be recognized as the power of the people in America today.
We the People – Are America. I am not in agreement with Warren V., but I can understand his deep rooted frustration – the emotional level for which he formulates his opinions; though I believe they are flawed. Though we may not agree 100%, I would rather have a voice of frustration bringing attention to the dishonesties which occur in government than no voice at all.
If only we could love ourselves and each other enough to join hands in integrity, despite our differences in opinions; and make a change in America. We need to educate ourselves and each other.
Sadly to say, when people delay in representing themselves to the point that their rights have been violated and begin cutting into their escape framework and comfort levels – then they shout UNFAIR! UNFAIR! Then they attempt to do something about the mismanagement of their lives which THEY HAVE ALLOWED TO OCCUR…….
