Accepting Someone to Love
Yesterday, you looked yourself in the mirror and said “I Love You!” If you have not, go do it right now. You will surely feel better. I tell myself that each night, when my head hits the pillow and immediately upon opening my eyes each morning. The reason? I do!
I do love me, and because of that I am capable of loving another. My acceptance of who I am, and always have been, allows me to accept and love another for who they are. Each of us providing for our own needs allows us to respect each other for that value. I believe, providing for one’s own needs is of value. Why should one look to another to provide something emotionally, physically, spiritually or mentally that one can provide for self? Knowing you have provided for yourself, can double the intensity of pleasure when you share and exchange values with another. You each experience true happiness that comes from producing values for self and another.
Acceptance is something we all seek. Have you looked at your life through another’s eyes? You are going to look in the mirror again today. Who do you see if you were looking through your partner or a stranger’s eyes? Are you happy? Do you have smile lines, or do you have a scowl of unhappiness across your forehead? If you see smile lines, chances are you feel good, most of the time, and most likely make decisions that allow you to feel free and happy. In contrast, if you spotted a scowl, it might appear more often than a smile. Why? Do you feel as though you don’t live the life you are meant to live?
Do you feel like everyone else decides nearly every movement for you? Do you want to change that? Do you want to smile that smile that radiated from within you as a child? That smile that showed the happiness you felt experiencing the joys that came from doing something for yourself? If so, try this.
Today, recall, a time in your life, when you believed in yourself, and, didn’t live your life based on others expectations. Today, recognize and accept your capabilities. Tomorrow we will expand upon your potential to accept what is.
