.. The Purpose of Life Is Not Death  Last week I turned on my computer and read that the man known as Dr. Death, could possibly be given legal permission by the U.S. Congress to provide the service of self assisted suicide to terminally ill patients, or simply to those that can prove they have good reason to die via the marketing and sale of his world renown “suicide kits” to the general public.  Eight plus years ago a Michigan jury found Dr. Death guilty of second-degree homicide in the assisted death of one of his patients because the jury found that the patient was not physically able to kill himself.   This particular patient had agreed to voluntary euthanasia as due to his health condition he did not want to continue to live.  As I considered this article’s statement regarding marketing a suicide kit to the general public, I took great pause, almost to the point of tears, as I thought of the hopelessness that is being portrayed in our society.  Why are we looking for a way to kill ourselves?  Do we not understand the “True Purpose of Life?” I want to say now very clearly, “The Purpose of Life is Not Death; the Purpose of Life is to learn to be Happy in Living, in becoming the Beautiful

The Advantages of Having Discipline and Endurance At the age of twelve, while most of my classmates were vacationing on the beach or traveling abroad for summer, I was enrolling myself in the Jr. Red Cross Cadets, with my parents’ permission. I was taught how to treat casualties, and I saw firsthand and up close how to take care of the wounded. I was trained in using c.p.r., and the correct way to put on bandages and a host of other life saving ventures. I discovered that I also had free access to many shows and events that I had to report to. As though this was not beneficial enough, the thing that seem to leave an indelible mark on me, was the growth and development I received from spending countless hours practicing as a team, the rudiments of marching. For cadets were required to march on Independence Day for nothing less than five hours. We drilled for hours a day. We marched until the commands went from ‘left, right’ to ‘aft, ite’. The value I gained from this experience was discipline and endurance. Discipline in following instructions and commands, and endurance, in going the distance and doing it wholeheartedly. The First Step to Success! Recently, I had the privilege of listening to a weekend- long workshop on how to be successful. One of the points the presenter made was that everything you have is your own doing. That concept actually guides us subconsciously every day. This is what hit me. I spent twenty years in the Navy and when my career was over I had not attained the rank I thought I deserved. This has been a pressure within my mind for several years now. My belief had always been that if I worked hard and took care of the people working for me I would make rank. In theory this will work. This is what we were taught and the fact that it didn’t work as advertised did not compute in my mental processing. What the workshop shined light onto was the fact that while the rank thing was a valid point, it was not my main focus of thought. I can hear myself time and time again saying the planes come first (I fixed Navy aircraft). Well, as I look back now, I realized that I really loved the aircraft and the smells and the pressure of making tight flight schedules and almost everything involved. Integration ?Pure Love? integration:  best described as the unconditional love parents have for their children.  If a child is drowning the parent will dive in, regardless of risk.  Parents will do anything; even die, for their children.  Their love is completely pure and complete.   Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company, built his company piece by piece, integration by integration from the ground up.  Ford started in his garage.  Ford became so powerful and successful he was able to purchase mining companies so that he could control the resources necessary for his manufacturing processes.   How does ?Pure Love? tie together with Henry Ford and his motor company?  Consider Ford Motor Company today and their current crop of executives.  They lack the key ingredient ? ?Pure Love?.  From the CEO to the Chairman to the Board of Directors, none of the current executives have the same ?Pure Love? that Henry Ford had.  The Ford Motor Company was his baby.  Ford worked levels of integration and innovation that later leaders lack.  He even named a car after his son!   If anyone can tie together ?Pure Love? with business, major world changing values can be had.  Stock investors consider the implications of the original founders influence on stock value.  Current companies, such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Oracle all have the
