Can Music Sooth the Savage Spouse?

A short time ago my wife got upset at something. I know this because I have been married for twenty plus years and we have gone through the emotional roller-coaster of marriage many times. She tends to speak very little and it has a harsh tone to it. I am sure that sounds familiar to many of you.
I was driving around with my wife and it was pretty quiet in the car. Well it just so happened that I had a feel good music CD in my car that I like to play if I get stuck in a traffic jam. I simply turned that on and kept driving.
Within a few minutes I could feel her relax a little bit. We got out of the car at one spot on our errand run and the harsh tone was gone but she was still tense.
We drove back home and the music kept playing and you guessed it, she was happy by the time we pulled into the driveway.
So without a fight or any long term negativity, a few simple songs changed the energy in the car and my wife’s energy too. What an easy way to get over a little rift!
