I had seen Corina Thornton’s painting “Moon Wise” on the Neospace site and was stricken by the simple beauty of it! Soon thereafter I had a dream about that painting and bits and pieces of this song came into my awareness. I got out of bed and actually started putting my recollection of those bits of music into reality on my guitar. All the while the painting played it’s swirling vortex through my fingers. It didn’t take too long before the image was made real in music for me. I played it over and over to commit it to unconscious competence so I would not loose it,(as I do with so many pieces), and headed strait for the studio where I got it down and started building the rhythm and other tracks. Some very good friends of mine helped me put together the video,( my first ever)!! We went to a lovely place in Roger Williams park in Providence Rhode Island called “The Temple of Music” which I thought was very appropriate for the tune. The flute you can hear in the tune is the same flute I play while sitting in the tree in the video!
I am quite often inspired by the art of others and I hope it is a compliment to their work that I do so. Especially when I relate to the visual of the painting, or sculpture, or poem, or even other music! There are an infinite number of catalysts for the creation of art that shows each individual the true value of being a human being…..art being the reflection of those human values back to the creators who inspired the art in the first place…..It is such a lovely dance of creation, production, creation, reflection! The mutual support between creators! The sustenance of the human spirit. If, after all, the entire Universe is made of energy vibrating at different frequencies, then it would not be too far of a stretch to say that the entire Universe is made of music! I’m just glad that I am so incredibly blessed as to be able to follow my nature and add to the music that is always growing throughout the Universe!
Thank you for listening!
