Dear Mark Hamilton;
If the entire planet were ever in need of a new vision — a vision that could take hold — bringing peace, prosperity, immortality, etc., to all — everyone would jump on the bandwagon. Truthfully, I think there are thousands of people in the present government that would jump on board.
I watched the Level 10 meeting. I continue to be impressed — as I was — when I first read some of the lit., Miss Annabelle’s story being my favorite. It’s also the best vehicle for espousing your philosophy.
The Zon concept is a bit far-fetched except for the totally scientific among us — the SFs would love stuff like that and work towards it. It might be tough to convince people who believe in a God to make the leap to “the God as Man” theorem. Like jumping between cliffs. You know the factions that would accuse this of being an anti-God idea…they’re not too enlightened, but they hold some power…and money.
Thanks so very much for continuing to include/invite me. I believe in the integrity of your vision. It’s utopic — everyone has a place in it. And who wouldn’t want a place in it?
About the money, the prosperity… Though you’ve cleared up this issue nicely and have promised that the Business Alliance will come on board shortly, most people have obligations they can’t just “drop” — without other source income. I fall into that category. And I understand that “causes”, “revolutions”, “implementing visions”, et al cost more than money. I just can’t help fund the vision — not even $30 per month for the website — sorry, poets…”e’en the merest bard must eat”.
You need devotees — people who are so mesmerized by the “vision”, they’ll pledge round-the-clock — or even one day a week — to Neothink — as volunteers. I like the “school for geniuses” idea, being a former professor/writer, from grades kindergarten through college, special ed and ESL. Film, creative work — these are my strengths.
If you want to incorporate one of my strengths into your vision there has to be monetary reward. I’m not greedy or mercenary… maybe a bit jaded… maybe a bit skeptical that this or any new “promise of a better life” can really deliver…at least during my lifetime…
But please, do continue to contact me. I’m a very ardent sidelines supporter and wish you the best.
Rachel Schechter
