It Is Just An Illusion
Several years ago while attending a health convention in Orlando, Florida I visited Disney World. At Disney World I spent time in its Hollywood studios. How enlightening that was for me to see the reality of what we see on television and in the movies are simply illusions created by technical geniuses.
Most of what we are exposed to from our mass media is not real but are only illusions created for our entertainment. Understanding this fact is important because most of what we believe to be real is based on what we have been exposed to through the media. It is fantasy and not real. So, most of us have endeavored to materialize our happiness based on fantasies that are not real.
Most of everything we have been conditioned to believe in is not real. We have been conditioned and controlled by mass media to submit to allow someone else to do our thinking. Radio, television, newspapers…for the majority of our lives someone else is manipulating our thoughts. Our relationships, our lifestyles, the cars we drive, violence, the food we eat. All are directly related to the illusions that we get from our mass media.
In America there is massive competition everywhere to get in our “heads”. The first time that I lived in the third world, on the continent of Africa, I literally felt like I was going to lose my mind because of the silence. Living in a third world country the access to television, radio, telephones…were extremely limited. I remember being awake one night and experiencing the silence and literally wanting to scream.
What I did observe during my international journey was that I met people who had very little material wealth but were happy. In contrast back in America I observed that Americans who were living what some considered the “American dream” were not happy.
I was exposed to the fact that Africans are sharing people. My husband and I shared our studio apartment with guests. Sometimes up to five overnight guests at once.
In contrast some Americans do not share. In my American network some who owned four bedroom homes with only three occupants did not welcome me as a guest. As a result of this awareness
I believe that the economic recession that we are experiencing brings value regarding our journey to the next level. “In every adversity there is a seed for its equivalent good”.
