Dear Mark Hamilton,
My journey with the Neothink Society really began in my 16th year when I was, at the time, a rebellious teen. My life was at the time fairly normal, but I was definitely heading down the wrong path, and needed expert guidance. It presented itself at one of my paper route customer’s apartment. I met April who was visiting at that time, and she quickly saw that I needed help.
She and her husband at the time, were the most interesting people, and in my judgment, the most intelligent, I had ever met. She invited me to her apartment to discover and learn about life, and she lectured me as did her husband for hours on end. April was self-taught, and to her credit, had a photographic memory. She was an amazing person, and never seemed stumped about any question. If you’ve never met someone who could read your mind, I can tell you that I have, and it was a stunning moment. She hardly gave me any time to formulate a question, because as soon as the question came into my mind, she was already answering it. That’s how it all began.
I was awakened, and set on the correct path after a couple of lectures, and I have been successful all my life because of it. It didn’t all happen at once, but the seeds were sown, and the change came about fairly rapidly. I thirsted for the knowledge they offered, and wanted all that they were offering. They did spend many hours with me, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
With their love, and guidance I learned to recognize truth, and loved gaining knowledge. As she said more than once, “the only thing you take with you is your knowledge”. She quickly picked up on my burning curiosity, and encouraged me to never lose it. They both taught me a valuable lesson, and that was that I must live by principle, and not by law. The change that happened to me was amazing, and my parents even became alarmed. They were suspicious of them from then on.
As the years went by, I eventually lost contact with them, but longed to meet like-minded persons like them. The few people even like them are quite rare.
I have been a reader all my life, and have always wished I had the sharp memory that some do possess, but I try my best.
Fast forward to the last couple of years when I heard from you, Mark, and it was a welcome to our society where many are just like me. All of us live by principle, and don’t need to be told what to do. We do what is right and honest. We all thirst for knowledge, and can share what we know, and find. I have been delighted to read the literature. Much of what I have read I was aware of. Some of it I instinctively knew, and the rest has satisfied my desire to learn more. It is a little challenging to digest all of the information, and it does leave one with a feeling of being buried in an avalanche of information. I am doing my best to manage the barrage of challenges, but I don’t fret about it too much, and I do what I can.
Bless you all. Regards,
David S.
