In all honesty I can not say it was Neothink that began a change in me. It was the Army that did that. I went out, saw far away lands and came to understand there was more to this world then the little I had seen previously in very infrequent travels to neighboring states. But I closed the door to this life by picking up the bottle, once again, towards the end of my enlistment. The bottle was an old friend that I had grown up with, from age 12 on and I decided to spend more time with this friend.
I came home and stayed drunk for the next three years until we replaced the alcohol, cigarettes and drugs with the Native American Church and Peyote. We spent some years in the Church on our hands and knees beseeching the Creator for Blessings to come our way. We prayed and expected another being to take care of us.
We would spend our nights in solemn prayer for people’s health, education and welfare only to have people light up their cigarettes as soon as the meeting was over. Midmorning would have us stuffing ourselves with mounds of food to begin a brand new day.
Things didn’t seem right to me and I started dreading these meetings. I starting seeing that the only time, things happened, was when I moved on them. I also started seeing life a lot clearer after I started reading again. I cherished Stephen Covey and his Seven (7) Habits but it was a reading of a brochure for a Neothink publication that made me cry.
This brochure spoke to me of a new life awaiting everyone that I knew was the life I had longed for. I asked my uncle who had given me the brochure for a Neothink book to read. He loaned me Cosmic Business Control.
I took the book and read it through. I read it a second time with the intent of understanding the money-making system so I could put it to use. I was starting on it once again when my uncle approached me with additional information. He told me of an organization, recently off the ground that was interested in getting a project going on the reservation. He thought it might be a good idea for me to look into what this organization was all about.
I had been working physical labor jobs up to this point and I decided to see where this new door would lead me. I helped the organization push through a Roof Renovation Project within our district. I got the district to pitch-in money to pay for project materials, tools & equipment, and use of a building for a satellite office to include payments for utilities and phones.
The project was approved and the job opening for the Coordinator position was posted. I was asked to submit my resume & application and was immediately hired. I was informed later that although hiring protocol had to be followed, for all intent and purposes, the job was already mine. The staff told me they had their fingers crossed, waiting for me to apply.
One of my fondest memories was when the Main Office brought a new computer down for me to use. The computer was hooked up. I was shown the mouse, how it worked and then left with the machine. I had the time of my life learning how to use this new tool. I would get to the office early and leave very late, taking care of the project, while at the same time spending as much time as I could in front of the computer.
Our project for the organization was a success. We repaired 19 to 21 roofs through the year along with almost as many community projects that involved community members of all ages.
As the end of the first year for the project approached, the application for the second year was being readied to be sent on its way. Our idea for the Nation was to replicate our District’s Home Renovation Project in two to three other districts located within the western end of the reservation. Each project would have its own coordinator with my new position overseeing all the coordinators and their projects.
Our new application did not get very far. We had, had a visit from Washington officials a couple of months prior to the application due date and we learned what they thought of us. The organization was shut down. It finished our project along with 14 other projects that ran the length of the U.S. / Mexican Border.
This happened years ago and it was Neothink that took me from a laborer position to a Coordinator position within months. It took me from a job using my body to a job using my mind. It has been that way for me ever since. It is those times when I choose to consciously put forth the effort to put Neothink concepts and systems into play, that things start happening all around me, no matter the profession.
As you may have gathered from this testimonial, I live on a reservation and our tribe has approximately 26,000 members. Half our members live on the reservation and most of the others live in towns and cities just off-reservation. All in all we have about 13,000 members living within the limits of the Nation.
I want to leave you with an unconfirmed statistic that I consider to be valid. This number has bothered me for awhile now. We are losing one person a day out here! We lose people to diabetes, some to other diseases, some to alcohol & drugs, and some in vehicle accidents with people under the influence of alcohol and drugs. We lose others who chose to leave this life on their own through suicide. These suicides are usually teenagers and the list of reasons why we lose people just goes on and on and on.
Received word of another death this past Sunday and heard of two others Monday morning. Do not care about percentages and where we fit compared to the National Average, just now. All I know is that it hurts when you lose someone close to you.
I think of my wife who lost four (4) family members (mother, nephew, nephew, sister) in four years with the last passing occurring three years ago and I am often left wondering how she is really handling this loss. I think of the families who have lost more than one family member in a year. Some who have lost two, three, or more in a year? I stay away from trying to understand their heartaches
Out here you can’t escape the fact that we all know each other. If not by name we know that we share a common bond. We are all family and the work to bury our dead has become routine work for all of us. The work has only picked up speed and the numbers keep growing.
If you were to ask me my thoughts on how we had gotten ourselves into this predicament, I would have to tell you it came with history. It came 320 years ago with the priests and soldiers from Spain who came onto the desert and helped themselves to our minds, hearts, bodies and souls.
I know it started then but there are still those among us who will tell me it is not so. These family members will tell me I am mistaken. I do not think so.
It was Neothink that freed the same mind, heart, body and soul imprisoned so many years ago within me. Through readings and constant re-readings of Neothink materials I have come to understand that in order for changes to happen out here, change has to happen within me first. Through the years I have continued to work on my own personal mysticisms and it has been a long, steady, positive process to defining moment after defining moment in my life.
Revisiting Neothink concepts and systems with the intent to put them to focused use for World-Changing Values has breathed life into the Child of the Past within me once more. The recent 18 hour schedules are exciting and a breeze. Pounds are melting away through 5-day a week workouts. I am making the decisions in life I have to make to get me to a spot where I can see clearer and farther ahead then most people would have dreamed possible.
I move, aware that in the next four (4) to eight (8) years we will all have accelerated the pace to create the Neothink World; Mark Hamilton, Frank R. Wallace, Rosa Marie Wallace and Eric Savage have helped us see is waiting for all of us. We will be bringing more and more like-minded people together to arm them with the Neothink tools, knowledge, and systems we will all need to make this world a reality for ourselves and our children.
Thank you so very much (Mark Hamilton) and to your family (Frank R. Wallace, Rosa Marie Wallace & Eric Savage) for the role you have all played in the positive changes that have occurred in my life. Thank you for selecting me to help you create the world you have envisioned.
Sincerely,
Gerald F.
