Thanksgiving Day 2009

The older I get the more I learn.

The more I learn, the greater my concern.

 Why is it this Country, founded with freedom,

has silenced the small entrepreneur, and you hardly ever see them?

 Those men and women who made a choice,

to try it alone, rather than listen to another voice.

 You see we each were gifted with a mind.

Now, it seems we fear using it, as we could get in a bind.

 These entrepreneurs from our Country’s early days,

struggled, and disagreed as they made their own ways.

 Reflecting on why I am here today,

I know freedom from oppressive leaders should have been here to stay.

 It is easy to point fingers, at representatives today,

instead, why not write letters asking them to return the Constitution today?

 By this I mean, the stress and struggles of control,

have not helped our once strong country, it has taken its toll.

 The fix to the problem requires digging deep,

yet it could quickly happen while together we sleep.

 What holds us back is fear not love,

fear from attack, of personal values, that we each can rise above.

 Set the example today.

Play together, don’t you stray.

 As you make this new decision you see you have choice.

You might even wonder why you somehow lost your voice.

 So, on this Thanksgiving Day 2009,

Choose your freedom, over oppression, by towing this line.

 Love yourself and others too.

Do unto them, only, that which you want done unto you.

 Then, with this new confidence go forth with vision.

Be grateful for men and women who coming to America was their mission.

 That mission of love for self, and others too,

gave freedom, to me and you.

 This freedom is not gone, it’s only been side-tracked,

as we believe another knows better, and we’ve been and watched attack.

 May all Americans today, make the choice to play,

as we become friends, is there any other way?

 Stress from the struggles keeps us stuck,

Hey! My fellow Americans, are you ready for some luck?

 Imagine if the Constitution, that once worked so well,

found its’ way back and became the tail.

 That tail of the dog that keeps us in a spin,

could simply out of its mouth pull the Constitution.

 With the strength of it, no more laws would be made,

without checking who might get hurt as the kids in D. C. played.

 Yes, we all grew up, as we never thought we would,

and we each can be filled with “Oh, I wish I would, or I never knew I could.”

 Does power come from within?

Is failure to use it a sin?

 Then, why are you doing without?

Please don’t raise your voices, instead, shed worry and doubt.

 America can’t be strong without you,

as freedom comes from within , can I count on you?

 Today please let another live free too.

Let them use their own mind, so they can feel that peace too.

 If only in your mind, imagine, no one telling you,

that, they know you so well, they can tell you what to do.

 To our leaders and our followers in America right now,

“Do you think it took self-leaders to get here somehow?”

 Today on what we consider a day of thanks,

let the river flow… clean over the banks.

 This peace from within can be shared with another.

Simply be kind, instead of mean, to yourself and others.

 Today, one-by-one, as we accept freedom of choice.

You will also recognize your family, friends, & neighbors, too, have a voice.

 This new year of freedom from simply making your choice,

will be celebrated next year, with pride in your voice.

 Think of the things you can do while thinking for yourself,

is it time to take that idea off the shelf?

 Let’s celebrate Thanksgiving Day 2009,

by vowing to claim that which comes from within, and, let’s tow that line.

 Then together let’s move forward, no longer doing without.

In freedom grew this holiday about abundance, let’s no longer pout.

 So don’t point a finger, as you know not what you do,

when you trust another to look after you.

 Today, decide to use your mind, and let others do the same,

because we, my fellow Americans, must save a country that’s now lame.

 May you live in abundant freedom, health, peace and prosperity from this day forth.
