Sometimes in life we are given information that makes us stop in our tracks…especially if that information pertains to a health related condition that we may feel helpless to overcome.
I remember when I first received the news that my son was diagnosed with Autism; I could do no more than simply sit and think, and think about what that meant, and how that dramatically changed the course of both my life and my hopes for the life of my son. I felt so helpless, as if there were nothing I could do to change the outcome of his life. We naturally feel helpless initially when we receive quote, “bad news” about our health. However, I know knowledge is power and I want to share some information with you about how you can beat your diagnosis of Diabetes. My son was also diagnosed with this condition; and I am happy to say that he no longer has this diagnosis.
There is a way to get over the un-needed devastation that the diagnosis of Diabetes can bring. So let’s define Diabetes, and then we will move on to what you can do to eliminate the effects of this condition from your life.
Diabetes (diabetes mellitus) is a chronic (meaning active and on-going), degenerative disease caused by insulin deficiencies due to the body being incapable of producing normal insulin levels. Diabetes also occurs when there is a predisposition to insulin resistance. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas to metabolize glucose, a form of sugar that is one of the primary sources of your cells` energy supply. Whether diabetes is caused by insulin resistance or a lack of insulin, the end result in the same: the body is unable to transport enough glucose from the bloodstream into the cells of the body.
Estimations with regard to those affected with this condition, state that one third of all people who have diabetes are unaware of their condition, just as I was about my son’s diabetic condition. Diabetes accounts for nearly ten percent of all U.S. deaths for people 25 and older. It is also the main cause of new cases of blindness among adults 20 to 74 years old, and it is the leading cause of end-stage renal (kidney) disease. In addition, diabetes is the primary reason for amputations of the limb, and is a leading cause of heart disease. There are natural cures for Diabetes that do not involve the use of pharmaceutical drugs. They involve restoring the biochemical balance of the body, and making dietary and lifestyle changes which are designed to improve your over-all general health. We don’t always have to turn to drugs and surgery to cure our health problems. Many people would prefer to try natural cures that have been tried and tested over time and which can apply as a complement to many other forms of treatment.
That is the information I want to share with you in [Part 2] of, Understanding Diabetes, and What You Can Do About it. It is truly amazing! Many of the things I will share with you are the interventions that I used to remove the diagnosis of Diabetes from my son’s life. So be sure to read the following blogs on this subject.

Diabetes, it is such a debilitating disease specially in old age that one should really be conscious of its onset (age related diabetes) when still young so as to be able to lessen the impact. Exercise regularly!
