Mark Hamilton,
My story begins on 2-2013 when my husband Jim was asked to go back to work at his old job he retired from. He was asked by boss/owner if he would like to do sales, also deliveries. Jim asked if he could get 5% of the net profit and he would do both jobs. She agreed. Attitude wise she changed towards him. As weeks went by, problems started. We weren’t aware of it at first but pay periods were cut off a week or three or four days before they were supposed to. Paydays were changed without notifying Jim. About three months of all this we were in a bad financial bind. Jim approached her about it as all his hours and income were not adding up. She started offering us money and as desperate as we were we took it. After doing that a few times we owed her $1,200 with no money to pay her back. By this time Jim was getting paid once a month for deliveries and a sales check every six to seven weeks. We got behind on all our bills, we lost our van and we almost lost our house.
On top of everything that was going on, one of our sons had to quit his job because of health reasons. He was diagnosed with diabetes. He was stressed from his job and his children as he is divorced. He lost all his weight too fast from not eating that he couldn’t walk. From all the financial stress and being overweight, my blood pressure was extremely high. I lost 58 lbs. within a few months. My husband Jim and I were severely fighting and pointing fingers at each other all the time.
At the height of all this mess Miss Annabelle enters my life! I was never taught to read because of my dysfunctional family life. I started to read the first manuscript a few pages at a time at first. I became real interested in Miss Annabelle’s life. Without realizing it I was leaving my world and going to Miss Annabelle’s, she taught me to love reading. As I continued to read I started to come up with ideas to face our financial problems. I quit fighting with my husband, and we started talking and planning on how to come up with a solution. Miss Annabelle’s story gave me the idea to try reverse psychology. I told my husband to act normal, smile, humble and be kind. As Miss Annabelle was kind and humble. That was the only way Jim was going to get away from the job. Miss Annabelle’s answers to her problems were solutions to ours. Miss Annabelle was on my mind all the time, I started to think like her asking myself what would she do in my shoes. Slowly we paid the boss the money we owed her. In Aug. 2013, we made the last payment to the boss and he gave his two-week’s notice.
I will forever remember Miss Annabelle as she became my friend, my idol, someone I could lean on. She saved my marriage and our lives. I will continue to tell my story to anyone who will listen. Miss Annabelle taught me not to give up, no matter what. Mark Hamilton and all the good people behind Neothink thank You for opening my eyes and the doors to a better world for myself and my family.
I hope the new members behind me will listen to my story as it changed my life!
Thank you for your wisdom, Mr. Hamilton.
