Dale I liked your story about your grandparents. I, as a grandparent, have less of a connection to most of my grandchildren, there’s 10 biological and many other step-grandchildren. Only a few are really close to me–not my choice–I wish it were different. Continue your story about the relationship/interaction between you and your grandparents–I think that would be beneficial to me anyway. Did you live physically near/with them? Did she contact you mostly or did you do the contacting??
I have seen your website, it is great.

Hi JoAnn,
I have always been close with my grandmother. She has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. When I was a child my Grandmother would visit quite often, my Mother and family would visit with her every Sunday. We would spend the day and evening together, we all wached The Carol Burrnet Show and The Sunny and Cher Show while laughing with full enjoyment as a family together.
Through the years as I have gotten older and with much responsibilities in this fast paced world, I do not see her as often as I’d like, but I keep in touch with a phone call every sunday morning 9:00 am sharp.
I try and visit her as often as I can, and take care of some of her household maintanence. I do however see her at every family gathering, parties, weddings, ect.
We invite her to every party, even when it is just us younger grandchildern getting together. Ever since we were in our twenties, we invited our grandmother because we love her so dearly.
My Grandmother is that type of person that lights up a room when she enters because of her loving, caring, soul. She is full of happiness all the time even though she has seen 3 husbands pass on, her daugter ( my Mother) and all of her siblings. We just lost her sister ( my Great Aunt) two months ago at the age of 93.I could go on and on, but I will say my Grandmother has never let negative get her down- everything is a learning experience, worring will always get nowhere except illness.
Think Well- Live Well!
